DescriptionWaterra eDNA Sampling Pump The waterra eDNA Sampling Pump is a light portable, battery operated pump (battery not included) used to collect eDNA samples in the field. This low lift pump (max 1 m: 3 feet) pulls water from the water body, through the Waterra eDNA filter, trapping the eDNA in the filter. This captured eDNA can be stabilized and recovered using the protocol as described: Sample Processing in the Field.Waterra eDNA filters have a large surface area which permits a large amounts of water to pass through the filter before it clogs. This is ideal when target eDNA is expected to be low.Sample Collection Techniques: The suggested process is to connect waterra Nano tubing to a waterra eDNA sampling pump (or a Waterra peristaltic UP Pump). Then plug the Nano tubing into the outlet end of the filter. Suction draws water in through the filter trapping eDNA in the filter itself.
